Reflecting On Our Values

Liz Doda is a recent graduate of Towson University, and has taken the time this week to share with us her valuable perspective on making professional decisions as a budding leader. She highlights an important message as we each continue to define and redefine success for ourselves- we don't have to have it all figured out now!

This month's theme is all about achieving your version of success. Tell us about how you define success.

Personally, I define success as achieving balance and confidence within all areas of my life. I believe the idea of success is a personal journey that one defines for themselves. I believe true success has to be looked at holistically.

At OutGrowth, we are committed to supporting the growth of others. What do you think we as individuals can do to pave the way for others to grow into their fullest, most fulfilled selves?

I think being open to listening to others and offering a different perspective can be so beneficial. I think the best thing we can do to help others in their personal journey is to listen with respect while being open to learning something new ourselves.

What is a step that each of us can take today to map out our futures?

A step we can take today, tomorrow, and every day of our lives is to take time to reflect on our values, and look at what ideas we are holding on to when making decisions.

If you could go back in time and give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Don’t try to have it all figured out, and be committed to figuring it out as you go.

What is your favorite quote or song lyric?

"A man should never be ashamed to own that he is wrong, which is but saying in other words that he is wiser today than he was yesterday." -Alexander Pope
